Mid Canterbury Branch

Members of the Mid Canterbury branch are spread north to south from Christchurch to Ashburton, east to west from Banks Peninsula to the West Coast.

Our members range from full time farmers to those who keep a few sheep for a hobby, and people in the wool processing industry to handcrafters. Our branch is well represented in sheep and fleece competitions and our members are often championship winners. We are a diverse group of people with a shared interest in coloured sheep and wool.

Our monthly field days are theme based, anything from as weighty a topic as pasture management, to a relaxed fun day enjoying the views and the harbour of Banks Peninsula. Our branch benefits greatly from the experience and knowledge of some very experienced breeders who are always willing to share their enthusiasm and to offer advice. See our member snapshots page for more information.

Members from other branches are always welcome to our field days, and we frequently combine with neighbouring branches for activities. Anyone interested in the BCSBA is also very welcome. See more about our planned meetings for this year.
